Hallowed Haven

Dear Friends,
Peering outside this afternoon, I see ominous dark clouds looming to the north. We here in Phoenix are preparing for a large storm to move across the valley. My mind drifts to the cool days of autumn slowly making their way here. Warm tones, bountiful harvests, cozy blankets, fires crackling in the fireplace, reconnecting with my garden. Halloween and the beginning of the holiday season. This is my favorite time of the year to nest in my home.

Sweet Salvage's Hallowed Haven aligns perfectly with the transition into autumn that I am so longing to make. This month a special treat is in store for all of us. Once again, the Sweet Gang will host a Preview Party Wednesday night, September 18th from 6:00-8:00pm, before the Hallowed Haven event on September 19th. Tickets go on sale September 3rd at 8:00am on the website, www.sweetsalvage.net. It is a wonderful evening filled with fall and Halloween inspiration, Postino's yummy hors d'oeuvres, a wine and dessert bar and for entertainment the fabulous Jon Campbell Band. Tickets are limited to 100 guests. They do go fast so make sure you get yours early.

Thank you to all of our Sweet guests who will be attending the Sweet Stops dinner and class on September 20th at Sweet Salvage. This event is sold out but there is a waiting list available if you are interested. Visit them on Facebook for more information. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sweet-Stops/188839241148506?ref=br_tf

Last, but not least, what wonderful news, you did it! Sweet Salvage has been nominated as a "Best of Phoenix" business, now we need your help to win the awards! Please go to http://readerschoice.phoenixnewtimes.com/ and vote for us in the "Best Antiques on a Budget" and "Best Vintage Boutique" categories. Thank you for your support!

Brooke Giannetti

Dear Friends,

For years we have been inspired by our next special author, Brooke Giannetti. We have stalked her blog, Velvet And Linen for inspiration, shopped at Giannetti Home, admired the teamwork of her and her husband Steve at Giannetti Architects, and read her book, Patina Style over and over again; always amazed at it's incredible style. One has to wonder if there is anything this magnificent designer can't do? Sweet Salvage was beyond overjoyed when Brooke attended our September 2011 French Market Event as our Special Guest, signing copies of her book Patina Style. She is friendly, beautiful and continues to be a great source of inspiration for the whole Sweet Gang. Kim had a fabulous time vignetting a tribute to Brooke's Patina Style. It is a calming mix of soothing palettes, weathered patinas and farmhouse fresh elements. Brook's book Patina Style will be available this month at Sweet Salvage's Chapter 2 Event.

Heather Bullard

Dear Friends,

I believe everyone has a lifestyle; a process or guideline by which we live. The people we surround ourselves with, the food we eat, the design we place in our home, and even an attitude toward life. Lifestyle is a powerful word and one that Heather Bullard has embraced to the fullest. A photographer by trade, looking through her lens has given her an eye for detail.  A respect for even the smallest of things, it's a recognition that everything has a place. To live a beautiful pure lifestyle where everything matters. For years she has inspired us with her photography in Country Living Magazine, she is a contributing editor, on her blog, http://heatherbullard.com/,  where Heather captures all aspects of a beautiful life; incredible fresh recipes, gardening tips and bounty, raising chickens, building coops, organizing, treasure hunting and inspiring décor ideas. It has become a go to blog for followers who wish to enjoy a fresh authentic lifestyle perspective. A few years ago Heather decided to pursue her passion of photography by producing her own magazine, Souvenir  /http://souvenirlifestyle.com/. It has been an instant success. Her vision of beauty is captured in each issue by the talented contributing editors as well as herself. Sweet Salvage was thrilled to be featured in Souvenir Magazine's Spring Issue. We had the best time working with Heather, watching her style and add magic to the displays. A Heather Bullard Lifestyle vignette will be featured this month at Sweet Salvage. A reflection of simple, timeless, pure lifestyle beauty that is uniquely Heather Bullard.

Caroline Broome Van Slyke

Dear Friends,

The Sweet Gang has met so many wonderful people over the past two years. It has truly been one of our greatest blessings. One of these phenomenal people is a darling local organic farmer, blog author, chef and now Contributing Editor of Souvenir Magazine, Caroline Broome Van Slyke. Caroline has a small urban farm in Arcadia called Boho Farm. Over the past two years she has prepared her delectable organic jams for Sweet Salvage and our guests. When you meet Sweet Caroline you can't help but fall in love with her dazzling smile and bubbly energy. Her style brings a whimsical, yet natural approach, to everything she does. Caroline hosts several events throughout the year at Boho Farm including cooking classes, brunches, weddings, special events and on occasion, a little flea market. Boho Farm is a charming French style environment, brimming with seasonal fruits and vegetables which are incorporated into her delicious cuisine. A vignette accompanying her first article in Souvenir Magazine has inspired a special display at our Chapter 2 event; one dedicated to her beautiful lifestyle! The greater Phoenix community is very lucky to have her inspiration with fresh organic living, and we at Sweet are blessed to call her friend. You can read more about Boho Farm and Caroline at www.bohofarmandhome.com.
